Before you begin

CLEAR EXPECTATIONS

Before you buy.

Is this a complete hosted chatbot?

This is a hands-on ebook and local Python CLI project. It teaches lexical retrieval, a local-model connection, citation checks and evaluation. It does not include hosting, authentication, a vector database, PDF ingestion or production deployment.

What was tested?

The 17 companion tests passed. A recorded local Ollama run covers 12 synthetic cases, one threshold experiment and one repeated question: 9 real model calls and 5 retrieval bypasses. The book includes raw outputs, a rejected invented citation and a contradictory answer with a valid citation. These are teaching observations, not production accuracy claims. Independent human technical and assistive-technology review remains pending.

How do I get the files?

Complete the secure Lemon Squeezy checkout to access the PDF, EPUB and companion ZIP. Keep your receipt and download access private. This is a one-time purchase of edition 1.1.1; ongoing updates and consulting are not included.

Can I share the book or the companion code?

The full ebook is licensed to one reader. The labelled free sample may be shared unchanged. The companion project is MIT licensed and may be adapted or shared with its licence notice. See the exact ebook terms.
